This is an unusual design and colour combination when viewed from a traditional New Zealand perspective. The use of tones and textures without colour is not something which the writer recalls seeing elsewhere.
The black/white/clear combination is naturally strong, the effect of the ribbon flowing around and through this window is clearly reminiscent of baronial styling, yet despite that the use of tones and textures brings this style to a contemporary audience, which is an extrordinary result.
