The Glass Room

Saint Paul's Trinity Church, Christchurch

Extensive fire damage suffered in 2009 with futher damage resulting from the 2010 earthquake, which hit Christchurch and surrounding districts.

Restoration included the extraction of full panels of glass, which survived both of these extreme circumstances. The panels were to be rehoused back into the steel frames after the frames had been properly restored.

To the delight of all interested parties the Heritage Architect, the Historic Places Trust, and Council our teams successfully removed over 600 original glass panels from the steel sashes, most of which were less than 1.5mm thick.

Christchurch city was again hit by a massive earthquake in February of 2011 which closed the chapter on Saint Pauls Trinity Church.
